Basic academic requirement is an average of 70% pass and no less than 60% in Mathematics, Physical Science, Chemistry and Biology. It is very important for all South African applicants seeking tostudy MBBS in Chinato apply to universities accredited and recognized by World Health Organization (WHO).  This is important so they can be well equipped to pass the HPCSA board exam needed to practice at home. The written exam is a computerized examination which is made up of 100 single best of four multiple choice questions, 25 are medical law and ethics and the remainder is medical. The OSCE/OSPE (objective structured clinical examination/objective structured practical examination) consists of 13 manned stations of six minutes each.
