Crop Cultivation And Farming
In 2005, Crop Cultivation and Farming disciplines were listed as one of the school’s key disciplines. These disciplines cover undergraduate agronomy, seed science, and engineering, plant science and technology, crop production, operation and management of seed and related specialties that include seven major professional courses, academic professors, associate professors, 1 doctor, 13 master’s students and 2 people with Ph.D. Doctorates and master’s degree graduates in recent years have mastered the discipline of the frontiers of knowledge which plays an important role in teaching and scientific research. Students have strong practical ability coupled with a hard-working spirit and these have been applauded by employers.
The history of crop cultivation and farming has an immersed discipline, a strong research base, as a result of many great contributions, a high-profile system, a high level of education, a reasonable age structure and broad developmental prospects. For decades, teachers of this discipline have completed the task of teaching, with 30 teachers winning the national and provincial research award. Years of teaching and research practice created a number of teaching and research backbone for their rigorous scholarship. Geographically, the school is located Northwest of Hebei Zhangjiakou City and in fairly arid to semi-arid pastoral areas. This improves the ecological environment for agriculture in the rural community’s development and thereby increasing farmer’s income which has made important contributions.
Hebei North University is located in the northern part of Hebei Province, at the foot of the Yanshan mountain, adjacent to the dam plateau. The region of Inner Mongolia is to undertake pastoral and agricultural areas of North Panhandle. Despite the unique ecological environment and crop resources, other agricultural universities and research institutions cannot be created. After decades of development, crop cultivation and farming discipline established four research directions:
Semi-arid alpine zone principles and techniques of high-yield crops;
Crop stress physiology ecology and regulation;
Medicinal plant cultivation principles and techniques;
Pollution-free cultivation of crops both theory and practical.
